چکیده

The classic formulation of the extended boundary condition method is revisited to inject regularization operators for unknown coefficients eigen-function expansions travelling and standing waves throughout dielectric scatterer. It shown that, using new definitions, existing algorithm scattering field calculation can be kept same its well-conditioned version. This exemplified scalar 2D problems both TM TE polarization under illumination a line source. numbers matrix in version are drastically reduced when interfaces eigen-surfaces expansions, i.e. circles on boundaries counter null-fields. arbitrariness interface involved calculations, via parameterized contours effects elongation corrugation contour extensively discussed comparison with results integral equation problem

On the T -matrix for Scattering by a Small Obstacle

Acoustic scattering by a bounded obstacle in three dimensions is considered. Relations between the T -matrix and the far-field pattern are derived, and then used to obtain new approximations for the T -matrix for a small obstacle. Various extensions and applications are suggested. Introduction Consider the scattering of acoustic waves by a bounded, three-dimensional obstacle, B. Choose an origi...

General formulation for light scattering by a dielectric body near a perfectly conducting surface

We present an efficient approach for calculating the electromagnetic scattered fields (light) from a single dielectric body situated above a perfectly conducting (or reflecting) half-space. This approach employs the boundary integral equation method and is applicable to arbitrarily shaped scatterers located anywhere above the conducting half-space surface, impinged upon by arbitrary incident fi...

A Well-Conditioned Collocation Method Using a Pseudospectral Integration Matrix

In this paper, a well-conditioned collocation method is constructed for solving general p-th order linear differential equations with various types of boundary conditions. Based on a suitable Birkhoff interpolation, we obtain a new set of polynomial basis functions that results in a collocation scheme with two important features: the condition number of the linear system is independent of the n...

Modelling of the Scattering by a Smooth Dielectric Cylinder: Study of the Complex Scattering Matrix

The interpretation of SAR data remains particularly difficult in the case of forests. Interferometric or/and polarimetric studies may enable us to retrieve some characteristics of the forest and identify the relevant scattering mechanisms involved in the global scattering phenomenon. A lot of numerical models have been developed to make the retrieval of such complex scenes easier. Both interfer...

Recursive T-matrix Methods for Scattering from Multiple Dielectric and Metallic Objects

We present an eecient, stable, recursive T-matrix algorithm to calculate the scattered eld from a heterogeneous collection of spatially separated objects. The algorithm is based on the use of higher-order multipole expansions than those typically employed in recursive T-matrix techniques. The use of these expansions introduces instability in the recursions developed in 5, 6] speciically in the ...
